Spine Fracture Treatment designed to Control Cement Delivery
The Crosstrees System for PVA from Crosstrees Medical is designed to control bone cement delivery and decrease the risk of cement leakage associated with vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty, the standard surgical treatments for vertebral compression fractures. In a small percentage of patients, those cement leaks can result in significant health issues.
The Crosstrees System uses a fabric Pod that allows the physician to control the flow of bone cement as it is injected into the vertebral body. An IDE clinical study was conducted to evaluate the performance of the Crosstrees Pod System in reducing pain and decreasing the risk of cement leakage associated with vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty. The Pod System has demonstrated clinical success, and received FDA approval for the treatment of osteoporosis fractures of the vertebral body.
