The Crosstrees System Solution

The Crosstrees Pod System for PVA, an FDA approved device from Crosstrees Medical is designed to control bone cement delivery and potentially decrease the risk of cement leakage associated with vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty, the standard surgical treatments for vertebral compression fractures. The Crosstrees Pod System uses a soft woven fabric Pod that allows the physician to control the flow of bone cement as it is injected into the vertebral body. If you have a compression fracture, the Crosstrees System is an approved treatment available at selected medical centers in the United States.

About the procedure
As in vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty procedures, your physician will insert the Crosstrees Pod into your fractured vertebral body through a very small skin incision. The Pod will be filled with liquid bone cement and then opened and removed so that only the bone cement remains in the treated bone of the spine. The Crosstrees procedure may be comparable in time to other PVA treatments and can be performed under local or general anesthesia. Your physician will decide whether or not an overnight stay in the hospital is required. Recovery time is brief and most patients are expected to be up and walking within hours.
